Seasons should be on everyone’s must-have list. Depending on how the director reacts, the performance could be a flop or a total success. Your success depends on how much you’ve honed your acting skill, your rapport with the rest of the crew, and judgement calls on whether to take risks when performing. You can put your sim through the hair and makeup departments and make them perform for the cameras. The ability to visit movie sets, which are filled with props like pirate ships and saloons, is also a lot of fun. Having other sims gawk and have a fan freak-out over your sim is amusing and gratifying it feels like a reward for all the hard work you put toward their celebrity status. Other sims will want to take their picture and get their autograph. When your sims achieve a milestone like landing a lead role in the hottest pirate movie, writing their next great novel, or catching a huge fish, your sims build their fame level. until you add the Get Famous expansion pack. In the Sims 4, you can attain success by climbing a career-path ladder to the top, but other sims won’t care about your renowned accomplishments. ![]() ![]() In fact, the agency recommends a possibility space of 128 bits to guarantee security for several years. Encryption involves representing data in a way that ensures it cannot be retrieved unless a recipient has a secret code-breaking key. (Mathematicians refer to the possibility spaces as having entropy of 29 and 75 bits, respectively.) The French National Cybersecurity Agency (ANSSI) recommends spaces having a minimum of 100 bits when it comes to passwords or secret keys for encryption systems that absolutely must be secure. ![]() For the example of six lowercase letters above, the computation results in 29 bits for the more complex, 12-character example, it is 75 bits. The “integer” in the formula indicates that the decimal portion of that log value is omitted, rounding down to a whole number-as in integer(28.202638… 28). In the formula, the value of log 2 (N) is a real number with many decimal places, such as log 2(26 6) = 28.202638…. That number, N, is derived from this formula: 1 + integer(log 2( N)). The multitude of possibilities makes it impractical for a hacker to carry out a plan of attack that might have been feasible for the six-character space.Ĭalculating the size of these spaces by computer usually involves counting the number of binary digits in the number of possibilities. If your computer spent a second visiting the six-character space, it would have to devote two million years to examining each of the passwords in the 12-character space. A computer running through all the possibilities for your 12-character password one by one would take 62 trillion times longer. That is more than 62 trillion times the size of the first space. If you are told to select a 12-character password that can include uppercase and lowercase letters, the 10 digits and 10 symbols (say, !, #, $, %, ^, &, ?, / and +), you would have 72 possibilities for each of the 12 characters of the password. For example, if you were told to use six lowercase letters-such as, afzjxd, auntie, secret, These choices are independent: you do not have to use different letters, so the size of the password space is the product of the possibilities, or 26 x 26 x 26 x 26 x 26 x 26 = 26 6. When you are asked to create a password of a certain length and combination of elements, your choice will fit into the realm of all unique options that conform to that rule-into the “space” of possibilities. I will also explain how hackers can uncover passwords even when stolen data sets lack is the logic behind setting hack-resistant passwords. I will explain the mathematical rationale for some standard advice, including clarifying why six characters are not enough for a good password and why you should never use only lowercase letters. Obviously such measures add safety, but how exactly? We are also told to change our choices regularly. At one time or another, we have all been frustrated by trying to set a password, only to have it rejected as too weak. ![]() ![]() Papa Louie has opened a brand-new coffee shop in New Pepperton, offering a variety of custom layered coffee drinks called Papaccinos.

Antonelle both said that rides were equipped with plexiglass dividers, and that depending on the ride visitors might be placed in every other car, or that parties would not be mixed within a car (each group would get its own Teacup, for example). Antonelle, of Mickey Travels, who lives 10 minutes away from the Magic Kingdom and said he has been to the park more than 100 times since it reopened in July, said that he has noticed lines getting longer since July, but they are still shorter than before the pandemic. “The longest was 25 minutes and everything was 15 minutes or less.” “This trip had the shortest lines I’ve ever experienced in my life,” said Anum Syed, a paralegal who lives in Texas and visited Disney World in late January. ![]() ![]() Everyone has to wait for rides, unless they have a VIP booking through a travel adviser, but with capacity at 35 percent, lines are moving faster than on a normal prepandemic day, visitors said. “There are mask mandates in other places, but they aren’t enforced like they are at Disney.” Lines are shorter, experiences have limitsįor repeat guests, one of the biggest differences in the parks might be the lack of fast passes, which let holders jump the lines on chosen rides. “Disney’s staff did everything in their power to make you feel like you were having a safe Covid experience and I trusted that more than I trust other places,” said Ms. She also described hearing several announcements reminding people to social distance and wear masks. Before she could say anything, a castmate asked the family members to put on their masks. Hafeez said that at one point there was a family without masks standing behind her in a line waiting for a ride. Castmates were doing a wonderful job keeping everyone in check.” People were masked, if not double masked. “We were nervous at first because we weren’t sure how Disney was going to be handling precautions,” she said. When Mishal Hafeez, 27, visited Disney World from Houston in January, she was struck by how seriously protocols were being followed. In addition to placing hand sanitizing stations around the around the park and urging guests to social distance, Disney requires everyone, including people who have been vaccinated, to wear masks at all times, except when swimming or eating.Īnd forget about strolling while eating: “You may temporarily remove your face covering while actively eating, drinking or taking an outdoor photo, but you must be stationary and maintain appropriate physical distancing during this time,” the Disney website says. It was for me to ride the roller coasters as much as I want and if I wanted to sit there for six hours and stare at the castle I could, because I knew Disney would worry about Covid for me.” “I wanted a place that was magical and storybookish,” she said. She chose to go on a solo trip to the Florida park, leaving her husband and son at home, because she knew she could feel confident there. Millar, 42, has been to Disney World eight times and said that she felt just as safe in the park this year as she had in previous years, if not safer. On social media, people have said that they were not able to get into parks because they had one of the two entry requirements - a ticket or a reservation, but not both. If you don’t have both, you can’t get in.” “You need both a park reservation and a ticket and they have to be linked in the My Disney Experience website or app. Kimball suggests checking park reservation availability before booking a flight to Orlando, so you don’t end up with a flight and no way of getting into a park. ![]() The system will only allow you to make a reservation if you have a ticket. Second, purchase park tickets and log into a My Disney Experience account. Here’s the three step process to get both: First, check Disney’s theme park availability calendar in order to confirm that the park you want to visit is available for the date you want. Guests who are 3 years old and over need a park reservation and ticket for the same park on the same date. Disneyland will be using the same system for people to enter its two parks, Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. One way capacity is being kept in check is by requiring people to make a park pass reservation as well as to buy a ticket in order to enter its four Orlando parks - Epcot, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and the Magic Kingdom. The company has not said when it might ease those restrictions and would not comment on its plans generally. Groups cannot be larger than three households and park capacity is capped at 25 percent. At Disneyland, the company is going beyond the state guidelines, which would allow it to admit out-of-state visitors who have been vaccinated, and limiting visitors to California residents. ![]() ![]() ![]() There's no wrong way to gameĮmulation does have it's place, I just don't see a reason to get overly excited over emulators. I play on real hardware and I find myself using emulation. You can argue all you want about programmers deserving compensation for their work and I'll absolutely agree with that, but this is a gimmick emulator for nearly 40 year old hardware the creator had no involvement in other than giving it a fairly nifty look when you play. Going from commercial product to open source is a cause of celebration in programming circles, but the other way around is (understandably) much more frowned upon - why take something that used to be easily glimmed through and allowed people to fork over and make it harder to contribute to just for the sake of money? It's not a good look, really. My problem with 3dSen is not that it mucks with how the games are meant to be played (after all, it's only ever an alternative), it's that if I recall it used to be an open source emulator like the majority of them, but the creator decided it would be more worthwhile to commercialize it. which is something that is the default look of the concept of emulating. Now, some people love this look - I happen to like it most of the time - but a big appeal of retro gaming for a lot of folk is the pixels! The sharp, defined pixels. YoshiM is totally right: not everyone has the time nor energy to go find some old TV, ensure that it's good enough for their uses (or worse, trying to pair period-correct hardware), hook everything up, and accept that if they're using a consumer-grade television with standard RF or composite/RCA hookups that the image quality is going to be distinctively blurry and fuzzy. ![]() This is a hobby that demands accessibility or else it will go the way of the dinosaur. How you play your retro games should matter way less than being able to play them. Emulation has come a long way from the days of NESticle and ZSNES. For instance, emulators like Mesen or bsnes provide cycle-accurate emulation to people with reasonably powered computers (basically, anything that isn't a potato), and equivalent emulation for other consoles exist pretty plentifully. I think a lot of you are misinformed on how emulation fares these days, especially compared to real hardware. It's the first emulator on Steam that we know of, though emulator frontend RetroArch is also planning a Steam release this year. Both emulation and real hardware have their place. The emulator promotes the play of illegal ROMs, NOT authentic games."įor now at least, the Early Access release of 3dSen on Steam is $9/£6.50/€7, which may go up when the emulator goes into full release, and a separate version for VR is $20/£15.50/€17, although there's a free demo available for that one. It is irrelevant whether or not someone profits from the distribution of an emulator. Substantial damages are caused to Nintendo and its licensees. "Distribution of an emulator developed to play illegally copied Nintendo software hurts Nintendo's goodwill, the millions of dollars invested in research & development and marketing by Nintendo and its licensees. Such emulators have the potential to significantly damage a worldwide entertainment software industry which generates over $15 billion annually, and tens of thousands of jobs," it says. As is the case with any business or industry, when its products become available for free, the revenue stream supporting that industry is threatened. "The introduction of emulators created to play illegally copied Nintendo software represents the greatest threat to date to the intellectual property rights of video game developers. ![]() ![]() ![]() The family was based in Montreal, before moving to Miami, Florida.

![]() ![]() Then, about a year ago, they decided to stop producing other people’s music. During the last four to five years they worked more consistently together as producers, and some of the songs they worked on became hits in Scandinavia. As of 2001, the two occasionally joined forces to produce other artists, and Eriksrud rented a room at Berg’s Living Room Studios. Eriksrud, who is, like Berg, originally from Trondheim, has a background in classical and jazz piano, and went on to make EDM. Berg had been working for 20 years as an engineer and producer, and also for a number of years as a mastering engineer. Simen Eriksrud and Espen Berg are known as Seeb, after their initials and the success of ‘I Took A Pill In Ibiza’ was all the more momentous for Seeb because it occurred not long after a career change of their own. A Change Of DirectionĪs a result, a bemused Mike Posner found himself catapulted into the big time once again - as did the previously unknown Norwegian duo who reinvented ‘I Took A Pill In Ibiza’. People the world over are happy to dance to it, and in some cases, one presumes, take pills to it, despite the cautionary lyrics. The resulting outlandish mashup of Scandinavian and tropical, electronic and folk became one of the best-selling singles of 2016. However, some bright spark ran the EP tracks past an obscure Norwegian production and remix duo, who spotted hitherto unrecognised potential in ‘I Took A Pill In Ibiza’ and turned the song into a tropical house dance track. The song was dressed up in a relatively traditional, folky arrangement, featuring Posner’s voice and acoustic guitar, and his new record company was planning to release it as part of a four-track EP, which, it was widely assumed, would be a low-key affair. So Posner changed labels, and penned a rather sad, autobiographical ballad, ‘I Took A Pill In Ibiza’ in which he takes a pill, feels 10 years older when coming down, warns people, “you don’t wanna be high like me,” calls himself “just a singer who already blew his shot,” and repeats: “You don’t want to be stuck on stage singing / All that I know are sad songs, sad songs”. Posner did co-write two big hits for others, Justin Bieber’s ‘Boyfriend’ (2012) and Maroon 5’s ‘Sugar’ (2014), but his label shelved two solo albums because the material on them supposedly wasn’t commercial enough. ![]() However, instead of taking off, his career as an artist stalled. ![]() In the same year his debut album 31 Minutes To Takeoff reached number 8 in the US. In 2010, singer Mike Posner enjoyed a couple of hits, amongst them ‘Cooler Than Me’. Reinvented by a little-known Norwegian production team, a song about not being famous any more made Mike Posner more famous than ever.
